Terms of Use

Last updated: 15 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Raahat. By using it, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What Raahat is

Raahat helps you find bathrooms in public and semi-public places — malls, cafés, stations, hotels — and shows what other people have said about them.

It combines information from Google Maps with reviews, ratings, photos and facility reports contributed by people using the app.

Raahat is free. There is no subscription and no advertising.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. This matches our Privacy Policy, which states that Raahat is not intended for anyone under 18.

You can browse without an account. You need one to save places, post reviews, or contribute.

3. What we ask of you

When contributing:

  • Be truthful. Rate what you actually saw.
  • Photograph the facilities, never people. A bathroom is a private space, and a photograph taken carelessly can cause real harm. Full content guidelines are in section 4.
  • Only upload photos you took yourself.
  • Do not report a place as closed unless you found it closed.
  • Respect the venue. Raahat tells you where a bathroom is; it does not give you a right to enter private property or to use facilities where the owner objects.

Do not attempt to scrape the service, overload it, work around its rate limits, or extract the underlying place data in bulk.

4. What you contribute

You keep ownership of your reviews and photos.

By posting them, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free and sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute and display that content — in Raahat, in any future Raahat application, on our website, and in marketing or promotional material for Raahat in any medium.

We may credit you by your display name, or show the content without a name.

Content guidelines

What we want:

  • Photographs of the bathroom and its facilities — the basin, the cubicle, the state of the floor, whether there is soap, paper or a bin.
  • Photographs that help someone recognise the entrance, or find the bathroom inside a large building.
  • Honest ratings of what you actually saw, on the day you saw it.
  • Short, factual descriptions. “Clean, soap refilled, staff maintain it well” is more useful than a star rating alone.

What is not allowed, and will be removed:

  • Any photograph containing a person, or any part of a person. This is a bathroom. Photograph the facilities when nobody else is present.
  • Anything sexual, nude, revealing, or intimate in nature.
  • Anything showing another person’s belongings, documents, or anything that could identify them.
  • Photographs taken through, into, or over a cubicle door or partition.
  • Abuse, harassment, hate speech, threats, or content targeting an individual or a group.
  • Graphic, shocking or gratuitously unpleasant imagery.
  • Advertising, spam, promotional content, or links.
  • Photographs you did not take yourself, or that you do not have the right to share.
  • Deliberately false ratings, reviews, or closure reports.
  • Anything unlawful under Indian law.

If you are unsure whether a photograph is appropriate, do not upload it.

Removal

We may remove any content that breaks these terms, or that we consider abusive, revealing, sexual in nature, or otherwise below our standards, at our sole discretion and without any kind of notification to you. We may also suspend or remove the account that posted it, without notice.

You may delete your own photos and reviews at any time from the Contribute screen. Copies may persist briefly in backups.

5. Accuracy — please read this one

Raahat shows two kinds of information, and neither is guaranteed:

From Google — names, addresses, opening hours, ratings and photos come from Google Maps. They may be out of date or wrong. Opening hours in particular are often inaccurate.

From other users — cleanliness ratings, facilities and closure reports are opinions of individuals at a moment in time. A bathroom that was clean this morning may not be clean now. There is no moderation queue: contributions appear immediately.

Anyone can mark a place as closed, and anyone can mark it open again. The most recent report wins. This keeps the data current, and it means an occasional report will be wrong.

We do not verify that any place will let you use its facilities. Access is always at the discretion of the venue.

6. Safety, and the limits of our responsibility

A note on safety

Raahat tells you where a bathroom is. It cannot tell you whether the route there, the building, or the area around it is safe.

We have no information about the safety of any location, neighbourhood or route, and we make no assessment of it. A place appearing in Raahat is not a recommendation that it is safe to go there.

Please use your own judgement about where you are going — especially at night, in an unfamiliar area, or when you are alone. If somewhere does not feel right when you arrive, trust that feeling and go elsewhere.

Limits of our responsibility

Raahat is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee it will be available, uninterrupted, accurate, or fit for any particular purpose.

We are not responsible for:

  • the condition, cleanliness or safety of any place listed
  • the safety of any area, route, neighbourhood or building
  • whether a venue admits you
  • anything that happens to you at a place you found through Raahat, or on the way to it
  • the accuracy of information supplied by Google or by other users
  • the conduct of other users

Any location you choose to visit, you visit entirely at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our total liability to you is limited to Rs. 10.

7. Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at needraahat@gmail.com if you think someone else has access to it.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, particularly for uploading photographs of people or for abusive content.

To close your account, write to needraahat@gmail.com.

8. Google Maps

Raahat uses Google Maps Platform. By using Raahat you also agree to Google’s Terms of Service: https://policies.google.com/terms

Google place information shown in Raahat belongs to Google and its contributors. We display it live and do not store it. Photographs supplied by Google are credited to their photographers.

9. Reporting a problem

If you see a review or photo that should not be there — a photo containing a person, abuse, spam, or anything unsafe — use the report control in the app, or write to needraahat@gmail.com.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and significant changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use Raahat after a change means you accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bangalore.
